Are you tougher than a Boy Scout?
Kayaking through dangerous whitewater rapids, camping out in less-than-ideal situations and rappelling down a steep mountainside are all in a day’s work for the most active of Boy Scouts. It was just a matter of time until reality TV tackled into the adventure-rich world of Scouting. On Monday, March 4, at 8 p.m. on the National Geographic Channel, we’ll see the first of six episodes pitting a group of elite Boy Scouts against a team of adults who will likely get more of a challenge than they expected.
From experience, Scouting isn’t necessarily “tough,” but it does put young men in situations that are challenging. As Scouts gain confidence in areas that are outside of the norm for them, the broadening base of experience and increased self-esteem really help them become well-rounded young men and potential leaders within the community.
While the show likely won’t be as dramatic as an Apprentice boardroom or cutthroat as a Survivor tribal council, “Are You Tougher Than a Boy Scout?” should still provide some entertaining television and a positive plug for an organization that deserves some positive press.
How about you? Will you watch this show?
